What is Invisalign?

If you’re ready to transform your smile with clear and comfortable treatment, look no further than Invisalign. With custom-made discreet aligners and no metal included whatsoever, Invisalign offers a minimally invasive and very effective way to straighten your teeth. No-one will notice you are having Invisalign treatment unless you tell them!

Invisalign is extremely easy to use, and an innovative way to enhance your smile without interfering with your day-to-day life. The nearly invisible and removable aligners gradually move the positions of your teeth using gentle forces over the course of your treatment. You simply wear the aligners for 22 hours per day, removing them only for eating, drinking and to brush your teeth. As a result, you don’t need to make any dramatic diet or lifestyle changes for Invisalign to be successful.

What does Invisalign treatment involve?

Your Invisalign treatment begins with a free consultation, where we examine your teeth and gums and make sure Invisalign is the right system for you. We discuss the treatment process with you and give you the chance to ask any questions.

If you decide to go ahead with Invisalign, we take digital scans and images so your aligners can be made with a comfortable and accurate fit. We use innovative ClinCheck software to create your virtual treatment plan and show you the exact series of movements your teeth will go through over the course of your Invisalign treatment. We can even show you a preview of your new straight smile!

When your clear aligners are ready, we show you how to fit them correctly. You need to wear each aligner in the series for around two weeks before changing it for the next one. Each aligner moves your teeth little by little, controlled by your bespoke treatment plan. We see you in the practice every 6-8 weeks to check your treatment progress and make sure everything is going to plan.

When you have worn your last set of aligners, your teeth will be in their new straight positions and you can start showing off your new smile! We make sure you are happy with your results and give you a retainer to maintain your new straight teeth.

Spread the cost of your treatment

You can spread the costs of your Invisalign treatment into monthly payments, often with 0% finance options, subject to suitability. Achieve the smile you deserve with Invisalign. Finance payment plans are available so that you can embark on your journey to a straighter, more radiant smile.

Frequently asked questions

Do clear aligners hurt?

Invisalign’s clear aligners are designed with comfort in mind, and our digital technology ensures they have an accurate and snug fit over your teeth, so they won’t hurt at all. You may experience some discomfort when you move to a new aligner, but this does not last long and is a good sign that your Invisalign treatment is working!

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The length of time that Invisalign treatment takes varies depending on each individual patient and how far your teeth have to move to achieve your ideal results. On average, most Invisalign treatments are completed in 9-18 months. We will advise you of your expected treatment time frame during your initial consultation.

How long do I wear Invisalign aligners for each day?

You need to wear your Invisalign aligners all the time, removing them only to eat, drink and clean your teeth. Whenever your aligners are out of your mouth, your treatment is effectively paused, as the gradual forces cannot work on moving your teeth. You should make sure you wear your aligners for around 22 hours per day.

Will Invisalign affect how I talk?

You may find your speech is different at first, as you get used to the feeling of the aligners in your mouth. You may have a slight lisp, but this will fade after a few days.

Why do I need to wear a retainer?

A retainer is needed to keep your teeth in their new straighter positions following all orthodontic treatment. Teeth have a habit of moving out of place and returning to their original positions, so a retainer prevents your hard work during treatment from being lost. We usually recommend you wear your retainers overnight on a part time basis for as long as you wish your teeth to stay straight.

Will other people notice that I have clear aligners?

Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible when worn, so other people won’t be able to tell you are wearing them unless you tell them!
