Azzalure® can also be used to help treat patients with severe tooth grinding, reduce armpit over-sweating and improve appearance of ‘gummy’ smiles.

What does the treatment involve?

Your facial rejuvenation treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation, where we discuss the procedure in detail and make sure you are suitable. We ask you about your skin, the results you are hoping to achieve, if you are on any medication and a few other questions to make sure we carry out the safest and most effective treatment. We create your bespoke treatment plan and give you the chance to ask us any questions.

Using a very fine needle, the anti-wrinkle treatment is injected in small doses directly into the affected facial muscles. The injections are virtually painless, but we can numb the area to make you feel more comfortable if you prefer. The treatment takes just minutes to complete.

Your results will be visible over the next few days, although you may be able to see some improvements immediately. You may need top-up treatments to maintain your results, which we are happy to advise you on.

How long do the results last?

The effects from facial rejuvenation treatment typically last 3-6 months, although this depends on each individual patient. Wrinkles will eventually return if treatment is stopped and so follow up treatments will be needed. The need for these will often become less frequent over time.

Does the treatment hurt?

A very fine needle is used and most patients experience only very mild discomfort. An anaesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment if needed.

Do I need to take any special precautions after treatment?

It is very important to avoid massaging the treated areas to prevent pushing the solution into other muscles not planned for treatment. Instead, please try to remain upright and exercise the muscles treated for several hours following your treatment.
